The price range for a 10kW on-grid solar system in Pakistan in January 2024 is approximately:
Rs. 1,150,000 to Rs. 1,350,000
Which is now being reduced and the reduction in prices ranges from Rs100,000 to a substantial Rs200,000, reflecting a considerable shift in the market dynamics. Specifically, the price of a 7-kilowatt system has been slashed by Rs100,000, now standing at Rs825,000, while a 10-kilowatt system is available at Rs1.
Solar PV and onshore wind have seen very rapid cost reductions in recent decades. PV modules have experienced learning rates2 of 18% to 22%, and module prices have fallen by around 80% since 2010.
This pricing does not include any additional net-metering charges that may apply.
A 10kW solar system of this size can produce around 1,200 to 1,400 units (kWh) of electricity per month in Pakistan.
